Japan's trade deficit for Nov (adj) worse-than-expected

FXstreet.com (Bali) - Japan's trade balance numbers for November came at Y -1292.9bn vs Y -1351.1bn exp and Y -1092.7bn prior, with the adjusted reading coming at Y -1346.31bn vs Y -1198.0bn exp and Y 1072.5bn prior. Looking at the break down of exports/imports, the exports saw y/y: +18.4% vs +18.0% exp and +18.6% prior, while imports came at y/y: +21.1% vs +21.4% exp and +26.2% prior.

The Japanese Yen was the unusual leader of the FX board on Tuesday, with traders continuing to square up Yen shorts ahead of the FOMC coupled with US equities failing to enjoy follow through as caution sets in.
