UK PM Spokesman: Unacceptable to keep N. Ireland in separate customs treaty

A spokesman for British Prime Minister Theresa May recently crossed the wires saying that any circumstances in which Northern Ireland could be in a separate customs treaty from the UK would be unacceptable, as reported by Reuters.

Earlier in the day, the spokesman reiterated that the EU's backstop proposal was unacceptable and added that they were working intensively to resolve that issue.
